Buda & Lil' Red welcome everyone to Fort Half Moon - An Outpost of Outrageous Fun. The Half Moon Saloon is a great place to party down, or just have a beer and relax. Our Guest Quarters provide an excellent alternative to driving after celebrating too, just stay here! We offer 4 large two-bed rooms and 4 single-bed rooms- all with kitchenettes! Our recently added DOUBLE FILTERED WATER SYSTEM provides clear and wonderfully pure water at every faucet! We have 6 full hook up RV sites, and tent camping under the stately oaks you can always find a place where you fit in here!. Whether camping, fishing, swimming, having motorcycle fun, or just plain kicking back- The Fort is certainly the well rounded place to stay. We are nestled into the Post Oak Savannah that give this part of Texas it's character. We are on migratory bird and butterfly paths and are slowly building gardens to attract these eye catching animals for your viewing pleasure. Local deer and hog also provide photo chances for shutter bugs! We're easy to find, just get on Hwy 36 and find Lyons, Texas. Then follow the signs to Big Creek Park- we are one mile outside the gate. You can follow this map too!
We offer intimate Single rooms for that weekend getaway, more spacious Double rooms when you ride in with the crew, and special Officer's Quarters for those that require all the amenities! All rooms offer kitchenettes, DIRECTV, and easy access to The Half Moon Saloon. The Officer's Quarters are fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, Microwave, and coffee pot. Cook kits are available for other rooms too! All you need bring is your groceries, and with Kovasovic Grocery and Food n More just down the street, that can be done when you arrive here! The Fort Staff will also do your shopping for you! Just give us your grocery list when you make your reservation and we will pick up your bill of fare. A valid credit card and advance notice are required for this service. The Fort also will cook for you! Yes for a small fee, Fort Half Moon Staff can feed your entire group. We specialize in BBQ fare- this is a Western style outpost, right? Your options are limited only by your imagination. Contact Buda for all special arrangements and he can get it done! The Fort is a perfect place to stay while attending Texas A&M games, activities, or continuing education! If you have room needs in the area, give us a try, you won't be sorry. We feel "Good Quality Service" is not just a motto!
The Half Moon Saloon has been the mainstay of the Fort before Buda & Lil', and still is one fun place to visit. Hosting such bands as The Malford Milligan Band, Navasota Rio, Undecided, and James Anthony, The Half Moon is never at a loss for entertainment. Buda even shows up occasionally with an unusual mix of popular music, local talent, jokes and whatever else he can find! We open every day at noon. Our Back porch sports a Texas classic wood fired BBQ pit and picnic tables available for guest use.
